What I Would Have in a Scary Movie

What would I put into a horror movie?  I’d probably just put in the things other people include in their movies.  I would include small details that make a big difference.  I would definitely have some sort of music in the background, but not anything happy like Friday.  Eerie music though, the kind that puts you on edge.  I would also have a fairly dark background like blood on the floor or severed limbs.  No horror movie has fluffy bunnies and butterflies jumping through a flower patch.  Of course when the main monster or antagonist pops out of his hiding place it needs to be sudden and fast.  This would cause at least some people to jump out of their seats.  For the monster or villain it would be something that people can’t laugh at.  In Scream the killer is just a guy wearing a ghost mask with a clumsy looking outfit.  My villain would look more like Freddy Krueger, a psychopath with a really messed up face.  For the main character/s I would try to make the audience somewhat attached to them.  I would do this so when I have the main character/s slaughtered violently the audience would feel dread and despair.  My horror movie would have details that are small but can really change how a story is, well at least for me.
