You Can't Do This!
Have you ever been told you can’t do something? Have you ever been the underdog in something you wanted to do? Well then, I have too. A couple years ago back in the U.S. It was a fine spring noon and my class and I were at recess. The rest of the class ran outside to frolic in the basketball court. I lazily walked down the paved walkway to find that they were going to play a kickball game, again. The beginning of the game started with teams being picked. The overall good athletes were picked first by the two captains. Being not able to catch as well as I can now, I was picked later in the picking, but I could kick pretty far. After the teams were picked we started the game. We were on our last inning and we had 2 outs already and bases loaded. We needed 2 more points and I was up to kick. “You can’t do this!” yelled the pitcher as somebody passed me the ball. He rolled the ball at me. I sprinted towards the ball and let my foot fly. I kicked that ball so hard that it soared to the next basketball court. By the time somebody came back with the ball we had won. It’s not a story that has such an underdog in it but I’m never the underdog. And I barely get told I can’t do something by somebody else. This is just one thing that happened to me that I do remember.
