Billy Collins Animations
Billy Collins made some animations for a few poems for TED talks. I watched a few of these and I will tell you how I feel about them. One of the animations I saw was called Budapest. It is about a hand and what it writes. I find the voice of the narrator fairly depressing and the poem itself is fairly boring as well, being about a hand and all. The second one was called Forgetfulness. This had the same narrator but the poem was a little more interesting because it talks about how people slowly forget things over the course of time. The animations of the poem is done fairly well, though I would rather watch some other videos on Youtube. The third video was really weird. It is called Hunger. It talks about a hunter and a fox and the animation just has the words on the sides of different walls. The fourth animation is called No Time. I think the poem is really weird(with the same narrator) and the animation pretty cheesy. It looks like a bunch of picture put together to depict movement. The fifth animation is called Now and Then. The poem is about a guy complaining about life in modern times compared to ancient China but the thing is if we lived in ancient China many of us would be dead so I found the poem stupid. I like the animation however. The narrator talks like his whole family was murdered by a kitten who then shot itself after the deed.
